1: Never even watched a single episode of any of these. 2: Why isn’t Mythbusters on here?

@red_bull_of_juarez@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2026-09-26 07:28
There’s only one show on that list where I’ve seen every single episode: Chernobyl. And that’s only because it’s a single, short season. I started others from that list and enjoyed them, but finishing them feels like such a big project.

@MrScruff@lemmy.zip 2026-09-26 07:36
This list is invalid because How It’s Made is suspiciously absent.

@matelt@feddit.uk 2026-09-26 07:41
Excuse me there’s a mistake What We Do In The Shadows should be at the top of list thank you.

I’ve seen 3! The Office (US), Battlestar Galactica and Stranger Things. I’m cultured!
-
@MurkdeTed@lemmy.world 2026-09-26 07:54
True Detective (S1) should be in top 5.

Community being 97th is heresy

@Eq0@literature.cafe 2026-09-26 08:12
I’m surprised to have watched quite some of them! And I am glad to see Andor high up (subjectively, I would put it number 1, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea) Sales pitch: politics, political activism and action in the Star Wars universe. What happens when you are not a shiny Jedi but just a dude? Absolutely great, perfectly paced, tackling cool problems. Gives meat to the dystopian Empire. I will stop here, you should watch the first episode.

BoJack is such an amazing series and I never want to watch it again That shit hurt me in a way no media ever has
-
@Diddlydee@feddit.uk 2026-09-26 08:33
I mean, everyone loved it until close to the end, so hardly a surprise.
-
@affenlehrer@feddit.org 2026-09-26 08:47
Interesting, never heard of a lot in the top 10. Maybe not available here or renamed
-
@thisisbutaname@discuss.tchncs.de 2026-09-26 08:54
No Scrubs?? Preposterous
-
@DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 2026-09-27 03:24
I’ll quote myself from the other post about this: Why the fuck would I care what the NYT thinks about TV shows?
-
@tatterdemalion@programming.dev 2026-09-26 19:46
It’s a mediocre list for sure. Shogun is too low. Babylon Berlin is missing. Lost? Really? Band of Brothers is too low. Better Call Saul is too low. Severance is too low. Watchmen is too low. Barry is too low. Eastbound and Down but no Vice Principals is crazy. Community is too low.
-
@Tidesphere@lemmy.world 2026-09-27 03:29
What is this list, lmao Breaking Bad #1? 30 Rock above The Office?
-
@Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works 2026-09-26 10:51
What is this list based on? Where the fuck is Dark?
-
@renrenPDX@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2026-09-27 05:01
I don’t watch a lot of TV, and this list proves it lol. I think I counted 10 or less, maybe 15.
-
@halvar@lemy.lol 2026-09-27 01:55
It’s really weird that basically nothing made out of the anglosphere is there. Squid game got squeezed in, but not a single anime for example is really weird. There is stuff like AoT and Death Note and neither is on there.

@tigermountain@lemmy.world 2026-09-27 05:22
Office UK is better than Office US.
-
@TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2026-09-27 05:24
Who made this list lol. Shit shows are high ranked, good shows low ranked. Makes no sense.
-
@cally@piefed.blahaj.zone 2026-09-26 13:00
The Good Place should be ranked 1st because the list is subjective and I disagree with it, also I haven’t watched most of these shows. Community would be in 2nd place.
-
@blitzen@lemmy.ca 2026-09-27 07:03
So, so many poorly placed on the list. Band of Brothers is my personal number 1, but I’d accept it anywhere in the top 5; begrudgingly accept it in the top 10. But 28? GTFO.
-
@raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 2026-09-26 11:58
List compiled by an utter moron. Entirely missing (among others) and vastly superior to most on the list: The Expanse After Life Sex Education Firefly IT Crowd Also, despite being controversial, probably worth mentioning: South Park The Walking Dead Z-Nation (imo much better than TWD)
-
@CreativeCider@feddit.org 2026-09-27 08:19
Typical NYT list, lots of filler series. But where the fuck is 24?
-
@Rikkard@lemmy.zip 2026-09-27 08:33
Silo? From? Severance?

In what world is The Office US higher than The Office UK?
-
@NotAnOtter@lemmus.org 2026-09-28 03:35
A ton of very questionable choices on this list. Many of these aren’t even prestige TV?
-
@OriginEnergySux@lemmy.world 2026-09-27 21:56
No Seinfield?
-
@MrPnut@lemmy.world 2026-09-27 22:55
I wouldn’t put Breaking Bad over The Wire.
-
@RodersTrotters@lemmy.world 2026-09-27 18:26
All time best show is Friends, everybody knows it.
-
@BigBananaDealer@lemmy.world 2026-09-27 16:16
lost is far too low for how invaluable to the way television is today it is. one of the most influential pieces of media ever. it should be top 10 without question
-

The Expanse. Where’s the fucking Expanse?
-
@heartSagan5@lemmy.zip 2026-09-28 06:38
Wow… and we’re only 1/4 of the way through it. I can’t wait for the AI garbage to rain down on us, and the younger saying… it’s great.
-
@Hoimo@ani.social 2026-09-27 09:33
Insane list. Look at the IMDB Top 250 filtered by “after 2000” and you’ll notice the obvious omissions: Avatar: The Last Airbender at number 6 Attack on Titan at number 16 Firefly at number 39 Taskmaster at number 43 These are just a couple examples in different categories. Anime fans immediately noticed that no anime made the list at all, despite 10 being in the IMDB top 100. Western animation fans might have seen that Bojack Horseman made the list, but Avatar didn’t (or if the editor filtered for “adult animation”, Rick and Morty (#22) didn’t). There’s really no excuse for these, there is no consistent rule that would exclude any of these shows. NYT readers must live in the dark timeline where fun is outlawed and Taskmaster was cancelled after one series.

@roserose56@lemmy.zip 2026-09-27 17:36
Fake top 100 for sure. Op made it because he watched this series and wants to brag about it. Where at IT Crowd, Seinfeld and Person of Interest? But yea, let add only American series! /J
