Its more about the specificity of my own timeline and personal posts or the feed I build of people I follow, I'd rather a better distinction between stuff that comes from outside. If I follow someone I want to see their thoughts and creations, not necessarily every post they boost
It would be better to have favorites just raise the visibility of things in the general feeds (or be a way to filter), and then reposts be a more conscious way of deliberately sharing into your own feed

@contrasocial@mastodon.social But aren't their boosts an extension of "their thoughts" ? If I boost something that I read that means that it resonates with me somehow. People who see it know that I boosted it and know that it's meaningful to me. Also, you know you can turn off seeing Boosts right? And how do you "raise the visibility" without an algorithm to push it to you? And I'm fairly sure boosting is a "conscious way of deliberately sharing". So I'm not sure what you mean by that?
