Self checkout. Person of a poor eyesight tries to desperately find a QR code to scan. At a very visible, prominent, in-your-face place is an ad for Minecraft. And guess like what a Minecraft zombie looks like to non-nerdy person? Yep. Did not scan either.

@MichalBryxi@mastodon.world Honestly, I don't think we should be trying to normalize "here, scan this QR code — that some rando could have fucked with — to complete a financial transaction". Seems kinda "recipe for disaster" adjacent. I mean, that kind of normalization seems like doing to smart phone users what can be done with creditcard skimmers at gasoline pumps (and other not-well-monitored point-of-sale systems).
