As some of us may have learned from The Office (U.S.), you can't just declare bankruptcy, as in, verbally claiming that you're declaring bankruptcy without taking any steps. There's a process. Much like declaring bankruptcy, it takes effort on your part to leave the drama besides just saying you've done so, especially when you've stoked the flames within hours of saying "I left the drama" #JadeChimera

I'm still quite surprised that a compilation of all NTSC PlayStation discs (including stuff like Gameshark discs and PS Underground releases) I have only adds up to half a terabyte. They're all BIN/CUE format in ZIP files, so there's likely some compression at play, but I expected it to take up more space than that.

PSA in case you were unaware - Chiropractic care is based in pseudoscience, and will not guarantee anything but short-term relief of physical issues (if that). If you want a proper long-term solution for certain physical ailments, you want to look into Physiotherapy instead. It's absolutely wild to me that health insurance will often cover chiro, but they also often cover homeopathy and other nonsense that has no basis in medical science or reality. :neofox_woozy:

Google should have been fully decoupled from Android long ago, and now it's so deeply ingrained in a functional Android experience that it's not really possible without a ton of work.

After breakfast, I’m taking apart the player and replacing the disc in there with a CD-R with the update on it, hoping that will get it unstuck.

Finally mustered the executive function to clean and replace the faulty fan on the secondary hypervisor that has been sitting offline for the past month or two. I sacrificed 10Gbit connectivity so that I could install those two enterprise SSDs that were gifted - those should come in real handy! I may be able to reconfigure the system differently in the future, but I'm doing the best I can with what I have given the state of storage and RAM prices. Updated the UEFI firmware, currently waiti...

It's really hard to give a shit about Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar/Take2's union busting bullshit, and it just generally feels overhyped. It's also really hard to give a shit about big events like Gamescom or The Game Awards when it has become increasingly clear that a lot of the games being announced or released have the goal of making bank more than working towards a beautiful work of art. Like, bringing back Tupac's likeness for that one game with Snoop Dogg - it just f...

On the topic of the PlayStation Portable (PSP), back in summer 2024, I got a steal of a deal on a lot of PSPs in various states. I used a Pandora battery and Magic memory stick to repair the software issues with a few consoles, but the bulk of them booted and seemed to work fine, though the buttons were likely dirty as some of them intermittently worked. Once I got a magnet mat to help with screw management, I took apart each one, including the ones I already had, and cleaned them as best I cou...

Please consider that some computer touchers and users just want something that broadly works without too much hassle and uses something made by assholes, sometimes evil ones, not because they agree with the assholes, but as a compromise because the other option(s) would completely fuck up or complicate their daily usage and/or workflow, and folks like me just don't have the fucking energy for the tech holy wars (ie, wayland vs x11, not something like DHH being a straight up fascist) and tryi...

If you ever feel like a no good fuck up, please note that this is the third motherboard screw I’ve found installed crooked on a laptop by one of the largest PC OEMs worldwide (Dell), and this machine has never seen service, so you can assume that they were installed crooked from the factory. Please contemplate, and then re-calibrate your feelings accordingly. Be kind to yourself.

  Well this is fascinating.
