BREAKING: Lab testing has revealed that the PSC of the BYD Shark 6 Performance has increased by 9.09% over the existing model. This largely stems from BYD moving the gear selector to a stalk on the steering column, freeing up important space for tubers. The result is that the vehicle's PSC has now reached 72. Our team reached out to BYD's Global Design Center in Shenzhen, China, seeking clarification, with the official response being "How did you get this number?" Investigation...

'm in love. Or is it lust? Either way I want the Xpeng P7 in my life. I even imagined what it'd look like in my driveway. ๐ Only problem is, we won't get the P7. Is this what it feels like to be an American? To see an amazing car from a foreign brand that you can't have? It's not fair!

Testing has just revealed an unexpectedly high PSC of 90 in the new electric Toyota Hilux. This reflects a 1.2% increase in tuber storage over the Riddara RD6 electric ute. I reached out to Toyota's design team for more information, with their response being "How did you get this number?"

Car makers all rave about how you can control everything with voice commands but you just can't. It never works. Never ever ever. Even basic stuff. It's always dumber than a box of rocks. Car makers: sort it out for spuds sake.

We're making great progress today on the battery box for the Allegro EV conversion. Next step: create a mounting frame and weld in some feet.

I'm not just a car reviewer. I worked in the trades for a decade so I KNOW what makes a good work van. Driving the new $65k Kia PV5 across Auckland made me wish this existed years ago. Honestly, diesel vans are dead. About time, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsRC3r169x4

Got my very first review uploaded at my new job! Here it is aaaand I've managed to confuse myself. This BYD hybrid actually works out cheaper to run than my Nissan Leaf. ๐ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJOqrxNeFeM

The embargo is almost over and I'm looking forward to spilling the beans on the Volvo EX60 drive in Spain. Thing is, it looks fairly 'normal' from the outside, but the level of technology and advancement in this sensible looking car could have some Chinese makers worried. And that's not hyperbole.

Random encounter with Marc Ellis on top of a hill, surrounded by Hiluxes. As you do. I don't meet many celebrities so this was pretty neat.

Definitely a car washing day. Question is, which one do I take for a drive afterwards? The sunshine powered Leaf or the dinosaur powered MG? ๐ค

Okay it wasn't a hard decision. I left the Leaflet plugged in to the solar panels while I took the MG for a blat in the countryside. Good to blow the spiders out of the exhaust pipe every now and then. Back to zero emission motoring tomorrow. ๐

This EV driver got so fed up with people parking in charging spaces that he did a Michael Douglas in Falling Down. Not saying I agree with him, but I reckon those two drivers won't ever block a charger again? ๐

The Dongfeng 007 is an affordable performance car, which is an odd thing in itself. Feels like James Bond but on a kiwi budget. ๐ Video review coming soon.

Quite bold. Should NZ follow suit or do we still have plenty of spare time, climate-wise? https://www.ctvnews.ca/climate-and-environment/article/france-unveils-plan-to-ditch-all-fossil-fuels-by-2050/

Bought this for $28 in an op shop today. Perfect piece of retro tech for the guest room in my 1960s house. Haven't seen one for decades. I wonder if young folks even know what it is?
