#3GoodThings (In honor of National #Coffee Day, I wanted to share some memories of ☕ . I have many more. Anyone else want to share?) 1. When I was learning how to drive (when driver's ed used to be free in HS), my mom would let me practice by letting me drive to Friendly's where I grew to love coffee. Lots of it. 2. Sitting @ the Dunkin' Donuts in Cedar Grove, #NJ w/my Dad. Eating donuts, drinking coffee, connecting. 3. Writing my dissertation in #Berkeley w/Peets. 1 cup per page!

#3goodthings 1. Writing postcards to #Michigan voters to get out the #vote (for the righteous Dr. Abdul #El-Sayed). 2. Made cauliflower rice w/some ghee in it. Really good. Thanks #TJs. 3. Making progress on laying the decomposed granite (a beautiful, golden desert hue).

#3GoodThings 1. Got my flu/COVID #vaccinations, & the tetanus for good measure. FU #RFK. 2. Ready to lay the golden-colored decomposed granite on the parkway, which is that bit of yard btw. the sidewalk & street. It took months to remove the St. Augustine (and its carpet) & to prepare the ground. It will look a little like the desert, which my husband loves. 3. Tomorrow, my favorite nursery (Lincoln) is having its fall 20% off sale. Will purchase CA natives to plant w/DG as back...

Hear, hear! "Make the White House press corps nothing but women. Right now, Trump (like all chauvinists) sees every man in that gaggle as a potential ally–every time they don’t call out his behavior, it is tacit approval. (And, honestly, it sort of is.)" https://www.mediaite.com/opinion/two-ways-to-stop-trump-from-abusing-cnns-kaitlan-collins/ #USPol #media #Feminism

#3goodthings (The I💜 LA edition) 1. Met a dog & her human. The dog's name? Foxy Lady. I asked, after Hendrix? She said yes. I then said that I call the purple row of plants in my garden Purple Haze. 2. Went to the Persian store on Ventura (Sabeez/next to Uncle Bernie's deli) & got delicious food for dinner. 3. Talked to a neighbor about gardens. Her mallow was suffering but she didn't know from what. She described the problem & I told her it was scale & what to do...

That #Google co-founder #Brin has spent over 100 million dollars to defeat Prop 40 is all you need to know to vote for it. Here is the endorsement from the Sacramento Bee. "We agree that Washington should fix #Medicaid funding, and we agree Sacramento should develop a better tax system. But neither government has done so, and no opponent who met with our editorial board presented a funded alternative to Prop. 40." https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/california-pass-billionai...

Trump's #fascism, aided and abetted by a cast of losers and haters. I do wonder what this means for #media coverage of the #midterms. I'm curious to hear what the #fediverse thinks. "While a legal victory for #CNN, #POLITICO and #MSNOW is probable, it will in all likelihood come months from now, after the outlets have been shut out of covering the president during the most consequential midterm season in a generation. That is not the same as winning." https://www.salon.com/2...

Remember when the govt, under #Biden, sent you 4 free #COVID tests? I bought one yesterday ($9.99 plus tax). Many people can't spend money on this & they will have COVID (my test was negative so that's good) and spread it & people will die. That, of course, is already happening but the #CDC and #RFK aren't telling us jacksh*t about it. The inequity & the silence are fatal. I can't wait for #ElSayed to win. He said the 1st person he wants to question is #RFK. 🍿...

#3Goodthings (the in my office edition) 1. A beautiful gift given to me by a colleague. ❤️ 2. A Surrealist inspired Hello Kitty mug. ☕ 3. A favorite restaurant, more like a dive, in Madrid. Falaferia. There's also a Hummuseria but it's fancier. 🧆 P.S. I hope you can see the images (if you can, would someone who replies let me know?). I can't see the pics because my instance still isn't showing them. 😟

#3GoodThings (rewatched the brilliant, Magnolia) 1. Its critique of toxic masculinity. Tom Cruise is astonishing. 2. Its critique of Hollywood's abuse of children. The damage caused, mostly by fathers, is captured by the grotesque, plague-ish scene of the raining frogs. The cancer that courses though the bodies of the characters is another plague. 3. Its magnificent script/acting/score. Cruise, Julianne Moore, John C. Reilly, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Melora Walters. https://www.youtube.c...

Hey #media, when you get a chance, after covering the breaking story about 47's haircare, would you let us know where Mitch #McConnell is and, while you're at it, find out why the people breaking the law -- those who are not releasing the #Epstein files -- aren't being prosecuted? #USPol

Great anecdote. Tim Curry talking about Princess Diana: "The royal couple had gone to see his starring role in the play Love for Love. "Diana said, ‘You were in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, weren’t you?’, and I said, ‘Yes, ma’am, but I don’t imagine that you saw it’, and she said, ‘No, of course, I did, it very much completed my education.’" #RockyHorror #TimCurry #PrincessDiana
