...spent my childhood moving across the country, but, for some, it was the first time out of the province, let alone across the country.
More Canadians need to travel Canada, as we are a huge nation with lots of diversity.

With regards to the language part, that was covered by the federal government except for accommodations off campus. There were limited spaces at participating schools. I learned about it late, so didn't get to spend a summer in Quebec, but I had lived there already. It was cool to spend time along the Acadian coast in NS.
