Now imagine this happens to Linux. It's impossible to redeploy half-a-decade-old kernels without automated help for the security fixes. So, to "help out", Microsoft releases a version of Windows for the Cloud with an up-to-date WSL on it, so you can keep using your Linux software while you migrate to the "legally less risky" windows API. Windows is still equally full of slop of course but nobody can prove it without public source and they have a legal team, so you could actually install it.

    @glyph@mastodon.social Would MS actually dispute the claim that windows contains LLM generated code? That would be very easy to prove if it became a matter of legal record.
