Follow the developer's advice and update to the latest version, taking care to verify the OpenPGP signature of the downloaded files. While a preliminary analysis revealed users in Vietnam, Philippines, El Salvador, and Australia as the primary targets, the developer (correctly) advised all users to upgrade. If you've been (even potentially) exposed from June to December 2025, consider your system as infected by a professional trojan horse named "Cobalt Strike". It is able to covertly gain and maintain long-term control of the infected machines. A thorough security check of all exposed machines is recommended.

    @LorenzoAncora@ieji.de I know. But that updated advice is because we don't really know who was the target. Not because everyone around the world was actually targeted. That's a difference. There is no real reason for panic. Except you're a high value target that a nationstate would go after...
