@green@mk.absturztau.be No, but they require landlord (for renters) and owner association (for buildings shared between multiple owners) approval and many owners deny that. Many even get pissy about portable and fully removable units like the Midea PortaSplit, which has a no-drilling mounting bracket for the outside part. Also they're all sold out now.

@green@mk.absturztau.be No. People just did not expect it to become "this bad" that quickly. /conspiracy Dark jokes aside: Houses are just not built with them in mind... and just slapping an aircon onto the outside and calling it a day will simply not work. There is also a lot of issues in regard to many older buildings having somewhat lackluster isolation... and really old buildings simply not being allowed to add aircons due to "Denkmalschutz."
