@green@mk.absturztau.be No. People just did not expect it to become "this bad" that quickly. /conspiracy Dark jokes aside: Houses are just not built with them in mind... and just slapping an aircon onto the outside and calling it a day will simply not work. There is also a lot of issues in regard to many older buildings having somewhat lackluster isolation... and really old buildings simply not being allowed to add aircons due to "Denkmalschutz."

    @hannah@moonserver.yorha.nexus and just slapping an aircon onto the outside and calling it a day will simply not work. why not. an ac is a box that blows hot air out one end and cold air out the other. if you put the hot air end on the outside, and point the cold air at the place you usually sit, it should work. this is not a matter of energy efficiency, it's a matter of not dying of heatstroke. an air conditioner of this type in russia, can be gotten for as low as 130€.Denkmalschutzso it is illegal? like, i basically never see any of the air conditioning boxes on the outside of buildings. in russia, one would see a box like this next to like 25% of windows
