@Sumocat@mastodon.world @asymco@mastodon.social Sorry my friend but the traffic reasoning is non-sense. Let's go back to the iPhone 4 days. Phones were (still?) launched on Fridays by design. People were sleeping on the stores for days. That was what Apple was looking for: hype!. So no, minimizing traffic management it's *not* a strategy Apple looks for, quite the opposite. That said, I don't know the reason of the delayed Duo launch.

@llanero24@social.mollejuo.com @asymco@mastodon.social Sorry for the late reply (I was busy irl), but I would point out the goal of traffic management is to maximize flow of people to their goals. We see this in staggered office/factory work hours, boarding commercial flights, etc. In this case, Apple boards their first-class iPhone Pro buyers ahead of a crowd that wants to fondle the Duo but not necessarily buy. What it minimizes is traffic jams that would block Apple from customers’ money.
