"Judge Kimberly Prost, a Canadian jurist who serves on the International Criminal Court, is the exception. She found her credit cards cancelled, her Google accounts closed and was effectively "de-banked" " Unless her credit card was issued by a USA bank, I am curious how the USA could bock her transactions. She works in The Hague, so don't see why she would do any banking in USA.

@jfmezei@cosocial.ca Her credit card is tied to either Visa, Mastercard or NonEx. Her bank accounts are still open, but the banks can’t issue her cards on those companies networks. So she should have access to Interac in a no-Interac nation. 😵‍💫 That’s a Europe-wide issue, they are very USA payment network centrered, even if I know they’re trying to move away from them. Same for the Internet. https://www.thecanadianpressnews.ca/national/canadian-icc-judge-says-trumps-sanctions-wont-stop-her-from-doing-her-job/article_d382f539-a9d0-5f76-bee9-e651366460ce.html I’ll note that Canada also doesn’t have an indy credit card network… we only do debit.

That Microsoft and Google cut off service to the ICC and staff is definitely a huge red alert. Both companies get a huge chunk of revenues from abroad and heoperdizing it to please the emperor's dementia-driven temper tantrums. There are truly no guard rails and it isn't just for nuclear codes, but even large megacorps are now endangering their own business to coply with the emperor.
