@lproven personally I disagree with calling it a crusade on RH's part. Being a corpo they invest their money where they see fit. X11 is a dead corpse in the ditch, their own developers say as much. So between reanimating old tech or investing into new that's what they picked. Wayland can run in the BSDs. GhostBSD made a decision to get in bed with rightwing nutcases for the comfort of staying with X11. If you support them you support their choice. That's politics for you. @theregister

@fedops @theregister No, I disagree on all counts. * I didn't call it a crusade. * I don't think X11 is dead at all. I know many RH folk think it is and want it to be, but I think they're wrong, and their alternatives do not appeal to me. * I am indifferent to Wayland. It does nothing I really want. I don't like any desktop that uses it. The stuff its developers promote are invisible to me. * Wayland has one (1) feature I'd like: different DPI values on different screens. X11 can do that -- it's just Xinerama that can't. I don't want it badly enough to run any Wayland desktop, though. That is the _only_ feature that interests me, and if Xlibre ever can do it, then Wayland has no remaining appeal. * I don't really care about the politics of the people behind these projects, TBH. I myself am neither left nor right aligned, although most of my friends tend to be lefty types. (I am more of a radical Green, and I don't agree with the Greens about a tonne of stuff, too.)
