I saw a young person ask ChatGPT how long their flight was today when they were literally holding the boarding pass with that information on it in the same hand that had the phone in it. ChatGPT spat out about 4 paragraphs on the subject when the answer was “40 minutes”. What a time to be alive

Still looking to hire someone to do some key art for MinerMancers, most importantly the Steam capsule and related stuff. I’ve been casting about but if anyone has recommendations for someone who can communicate the “silly wizards go mining together” theme, let me know!

I kind of have the Josh Kirby (old Pratchett book covers) style in my head, but I’m not wedded to it

The reason computers are useful is that they do exactly what they’re told to do and nothing else. They’re incredibly dumb machines and that’s perfect.

Adding a layer that makes them look intelligent by producing heavily statistically biased but inherently random output is not an improvement. It might seem like thought because humans are idiotic anthropomorphising chimps, but it isn’t. It’s RNG with a massive statistical skew

Ugh my phone updated to iOS 26 last night. Whoever thought Liquid Glass was a good idea needs a slap. Yeah let’s make buttons with text on them transparent, that will be suuuuper legible. Idiots. And to think they’re burning GPU time to make their UI worse. Who runs UX at Apple these days anyway? They clearly don’t know what they’re doing. Luckily found Accessibility > Display & Text > Reduce Transparency so most of it is gone now
