My daughter was gifted a balloon yesterday that we tied on her wrist. My husband removed it at the store and accidentally let it go. She was devestated.
She just turned to me (24 hours later) and said “I was having a balloon until it flew to the Costco sky”

We have a clock that turns red and “goes to sleep” at 8pm for the three-year-old. We let her look at books in her room until then. Tonight she decided she wasn’t finished reading so she unplugged it

I found a sticky note on the floor with a motivational quote from a fifth grader: “life is like stairs, don’t go down. Go up”

Have I been using stairs wrong my entire life?

As a parent you get superpowers like translating nonsense to actual language.
“Mommy, what’s the song with “braggy pie?”
“Oh, you mean preoccupied? 1985 by Bowling for Soup”

Takeaways from gold medal men’s hockey game:
Puck drop ON TIME?!?
Only commercials during intermissions?!?
3 on 3 overtime is not for gold medal games. Give them 5 on 5 like the NHL does for playoffs.
I think this would’ve been a different outcome if Sidney Crosby was healthy. Canada outplayed the US for most of the game, just couldn’t capitalize on opportunities.

My husband has the soundtrack from Hollow Knight on his phone and whenever it comes up and our three-year-old sees the album artwork she goes “that’s the game where you have to find a bench”.

Husband and I are both work from home due to the weather. Preschool is closed. Guess she’s watching a movie while we’re both in meetings…

Three-year-old’s woes getting dressed today:
“My sock feels silly!” (Sideways, maybe?)
“My shirt is pretending to be a hood!” (The neck hole was too tight and she couldn’t get it on - or off)

Going to Universal Orlando next month. First time going with just me and my husband. He can’t do rides without getting sick (so he’s saving himself for Donkey Kong) and while he’s totally content waiting around for me, what are some other fun things we can do together?
