  @scottjehl I think that this isn’t all that difficult technically. Where it breaks down is 3rd party vendor integration into 1st party properties. Much easier to say, “link this script”, than a multi-step process to deeply integrate their framework with your HTML. Consent Management is also a tough thing for individual web properties to fully own themselves as it is a very complex legal area.

  @scottjehl relevant to your interests, I would be really interested in seeing a vendor ship an integration as a web component. I _think_ web components have everything needed to make this a pretty easy integration

  4AM. Woke up. iPhone should be in StandBy mode, but screen is black. I want to know the time and start pressing buttons. Haptics work, but screen is still black. Attempt a soft reset to restart the phone. The damn phone CALLED 911 VIA EMERGENCY SOS instead. Wife and brother are both notified. Brother calls frantically. Answer on my watch as the phone is still not working.

  @scottjehl Been here before too: https://www.tollmanz.com/typography-coms-cssom-blocking-font-loader/ (ignore the broken stylesheet). I had a later experience where I worked with a legal team to try to come to terms with a vendor such that we didn't need to use their loader. It did not work.

  @jeffpaul great story. Congrats! Are the Griffey cards worth lots of $$$ these days? Obviously, your personal connection to the cards are worth much more
