4AM. Woke up. iPhone should be in StandBy mode, but screen is black. I want to know the time and start pressing buttons. Haptics work, but screen is still black.
Attempt a soft reset to restart the phone. The damn phone CALLED 911 VIA EMERGENCY SOS instead. Wife and brother are both notified. Brother calls frantically. Answer on my watch as the phone is still not working.

Freaking out as phone still won't turn on and I'm expecting a police car or fire truck to show up. 15 mins later, the phone screen comes on like nothing happened. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately), the dispatch didn't send anyone. In my defense, it used to be volume down + sleep/wake for a soft reset. Emergency SOS is volume up + sleep/wake.
