RE: https://mstdn.social/@stux/117186158784673388 It would be a shame if someone living in the area uploaded pics of the house to Google Earth.

If someone calls it "Lake America", tell them that you don't speak pedophile.

I will say this: I find it fitting that Trump renamed the smallest of the 5 Great Lakes to Lake America.

Today would've been my grandfather's 105th birthday. To commemorate, I went out and cleaned up around his tombstone while having a small conversation to update him and grandma on how things are going. Sounds crazy, but it actually helps get over suddenly losing them 30 years ago. It still sucks that I wasn't able to say goodbye to either one like the rest of my family, but for some reason, this year it's been a little easier.

I don't mind allowing ads on a website, especially when it comes to open source projects like PearOS. However, when I visit said site and 4 ads immediately show up, front and center and cover everything, it's a huge red flag and I go back to blocking ads. What sucks is that the site won't allow you to proceed if ads are blocked. I'd love to give the OS a try, but I'll pass this time around.

"Please, Tim. Before you go, I could really use your 'talent' and have Apple Maps re-label Lake Ontario like your rival did." *Talent = sexual favor, naturally

So glad I ditched 1Password a few years ago.

Today was the first day that I was able to test MapQuest in place of Google Maps. After 3 different trips to new places, I didn't have any issues with the directions given. So, I decided to subscribe for a month as a way to show support. Mainly, it removes ads from the app, but for a mere $2, it's worth it.

Since Trump is being petty with his renaming things to overcompensate, I renamed Lake Ontario to Lake Pedo.

I decided to test drive the KDE version of Fedora and while the UI is clean and modern, holy shit there's so much to customize. While that's a good thing for those that like to do that, I realize why I prefer GNOME over KDE. I know a few people personally that love KDE and I can appreciate that. However, I will have to pass on switching desktop environments for the time being.

For those wanting a viable alternative to 1Password, I urge you to give @aliasvault a try. https://www.aliasvault.com/

I love when a new Linux distro is released and it isn't based on Ubuntu, but based on Debian instead. Introducing Vanilla OS 3 "Reunion" (I'm not knocking Ubuntu. It's a fine choice and it works for many people, I'm just not a fan Snap and how deep it's embedded into the OS.) https://vanillaos.org/blog/article/2026-08-24/vanilla-os-3-reunion---stable-release
