    #Electronics question. Imagine you’re building a small guitar amp, like the Ruby or Noisy Cricket, and want to power it using a LiIon or similar battery instead of a 9V block. Would it be better to use a 1S configuration with a step-up converter (simpler charging circuit, but potentially more noise during operation) or a 3S configuration without the DCDC converter between battery and amp (hopefully no extra noise introduced, but more complex charging circuitry)?

    Seeing things about hosting websites on old phones, powered via solar, .... The thing I don&#39;t quite get about that is they&#39;re connected via wifi. To a router that&#39;s probably just as powerful and could do that job. But it&#39;s probably also not solar powered. So are these mostly art projects? Is there a way to make this &quot;properly&quot; a sustainable thing? What&#39;s the real goal? #permacomputing
