sometimes you have to reach deep into childhood jingles for your debugging print statements just to summon some appropriately deep magic to get the test suite to pass.

This phenomenon has been around for a long time, but it is still psychically jarring that when I plug my phone into my computer with a cable to sync some music, it says, enter your password to use "accessory." The notion that the phone is primary and the computer is secondary, an "accessory" to the phone, is wildly backwards. The phone is the passive consumption device. Not inherrently bad, of course. I need my info. But the computer. Holy crap. That is The...

Been messing around with curved shapes in p5.js using the bezierVertex() function. I made myself a little exploration tool so I could drag the control points around and see how the curve edges behave. The orientation feels kinda off to me, though. In this example, the red dots represent the shape's vertices/anchor nodes (with a north, south east, west orientation). The green dots are the Bezier control points. It feels strange that the green control points are paired together by edge ra...

@sideb0ard recommended this book in at a Cycling '74 Office Hours video stream. got a copy through my library and been messing around with p5.js and the concepts in the book. i have been wanting to experiment with the p5.js library for creating visuals and animations in a browser, but find it hard to relate to most of the imagery you see in p5 tutorials. i'm good with the code side, but need a little inspiration in the visual arena. i think this book provides exactly what i was...
