#3GoodThings #threegoodthings 1. Persevered and broke through my stubborn resistance to re-start work by ploughing through all my test marking. 2. In such a good mood from my breakthrough that I cleaned the house from top to bottom. 3. Found an egg laid by our remaining chicken who is nearly 12 years old. She hasn't lain any for years but now she is by herself, she's re-started. Unless of course a random chicken wandered into our yard and her hutch and laid it. Hmmm?

#3goodthings #threegoodthings 1. Managed to accelerate through a lengthy list of home care necessities with minimal fuss and cost. Just a few more to finish off tomorrow. 2. Touched base with my son and found him in reasonable spirits just a few days out from his most important academic submission. 3. Feeling much more relaxed about life just a few days into a break.

#3goodthings #threegoodthings 1. Due to a brief respite from work, I can return to bed after waking up and lie around until I feel like doing something else. 2. Enjoying the manic weather changes of spring. Boiling hot one moment and full fluffy coverings the next. 3. Looking forward to spending a full day with my sweetheart on the only day we have off together. ❤️

Our beautiful ginger chicken has passed away just shy of her 12th birthday. In her first year, she was our only chicken and followed us around all day long. Then, we found her a partner and they have been inseparable ever since. The poor partner has been with her constantly for the past few days as she deteriorated and is looking very lost now. The end stage is so hard for all who love them. Thanks for all the wonderful memories, our darling ginger girl! We will miss you. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

1. Recovered reasonably quickly from a debilitating bout of seasonal flu. Sustained high temps certainly test your limits. 2. Our near death old chicken is making a miraculous comeback. She was actually chasing me around the garden today because I was carrying her food. 3. Missing my sweetheart who is away this week visiting family. Absence certainly does make the heart grow fonder, even when I thought I'd reached the fondness limit. #3goodthings #threegoodthings

I need to do this to get myself in the right frame of mind for the week ahead 1. Great group of students in my new classes for this term. Happy, positive and eager to learn. 2.Starting to get a bit more organised with everything. 3. The smell of impending spring is all around. All our pets are suddenly re-energised. #3goodthings #ThreeGoodThings

1. Had a long chat with my daughter about every topic we could think up. We've always been close and it's so comforting that it's continued well into her adulthood. 2. Saw the cats licking and grooming each other and then snuggling to combat the cold. They used to do this all the time but it's rare now they're fully grown. 3. Survived my night class even though my sugars were out of control. Just wanted to curl up and sleep but I hid it well enough. #3goodthing #threegood...

Call me naive, idealistic and overly optimistic but I've always believed that the vast majority of humanity want the same peace, fairness, liberty and continued access to decent living standards. Unfortunately, that loud and entitled minority who just want everything to favour themselves continue to dominate and control how the rest of us live, denying us all these things. At some point in history, this has to stop! It has been and will always be a ridiculous state of affairs. #antigree...

It's so cold here this morning that one of the cats just came and called me to go back to bed so that she could use me as a heater. 😃 #cats

I have to teach a lesson on how to be polite in English today and I disagree with just about everything in the lesson, so subsequently not feeling very polite at all before I walk in the door. Interesting day ahead.

Existential dread used to be something I really grappled with understanding but now it's becoming clearer as each day passes and each headline becomes more incomprehensible.

40 years driving and had a first the other day. Cruising down a street in my neighbourhood and in the distance I spot a car coming my way. Usually not a drama but this car appeared to be on my side of the road. I slowed down, thinking the car would veer to the other side but it didn't. Then panic sets in, I slow to a crawl, flash my lights and blast the horn. About 3 seconds from impact, the driver realises their error and moves across and then just continues on. #weird #traffic

#timetravel About to embark on a short journey back in time to the place that owned my childhood. Feeling quite ambivalent as my emotions swing from nostalgia to dread. I had the happiest of childhoods in many ways but as an adult I've grown into a different person who doesn't easily remember this and I too quickly judge the place on how it fits with the current 'me'. I will endeavour to be more open and accepting this trip and try and recapture those happy mem...

I've just spent 20 minutes trying to find where I can disable doomscrolling in the settings but when I finally found it and swiped it off, the screen just reloaded and showed me yet another atrocity.
