    Free software has... (1) opened the industry to everyone, democratizing it (yay!) (2) made it impossible to make money in software (boo!) Engineering is becoming a hobby or avocation. Not a career. #opensource

    @CSB@poa.st Why don't you run a local model until you really need to do something? Am amused by the state of "demi-support" of all these AI tools on Windows. Everything half-works + yet the nVidia GPUs 'we need' are there. Hopefully yore rite and Oomple will pull ahead around August.

    @jb@nicecrew.digital @BrazilianContrarian@poa.st I rode a straight-pipe Aermacchi 250 once downtown-- was told later that you could hear it for miles. The pipe was a new "muffler" for the bike that looked like the original 1960s mufflers but had no packing whatsoever. It had screws in it so you could take it apart etc. I knew it was loud went to a motorcycle shop + had to convince the guy I had a muffler I could manually glasspack myself... since the ones you can take apart got regu...
