@jb@nicecrew.digital @BrazilianContrarian@poa.st I rode a straight-pipe Aermacchi 250 once downtown-- was told later that you could hear it for miles. The pipe was a new "muffler" for the bike that looked like the original 1960s mufflers but had no packing whatsoever. It had screws in it so you could take it apart etc. I knew it was loud went to a motorcycle shop + had to convince the guy I had a muffler I could manually glasspack myself... since the ones you can take apart got regulated out of existance [sort of] decades ago. Much better after I glasspacked it!
