    Day 8 of #coding a #reactjs app for #mastodon using #typescript. Today I added more column types, specifically for different timelines (&amp;quot;local&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;federated&amp;quot;, etc) and started the work on custom filters through regex. Began work on the mobile layout for the app. Proving to be a challenge but a welcome one. Created a bunch of Github issues as prep for open sourcing the project.     @mnl I can totally relate to this having been burnt by ORMs in the past. I&amp;#39;m a big fan of just generating static types for my database with https://github.com/rmp135/sql-ts and then using those generated types to add some loose type-safety to my sql queries. For example: typing the result sets or referencing table/column names through an enum.

Bunch of random things got done today: - Post editing is WIP - Show counts of replies/boosts/favorites - Person &amp;quot;Started following you&amp;quot; card - Follow a user directly from a card. - First pass at adding custom emoji support into the picker.     Day 10 of coding a #reactjs app for #mastodon in #typescript. To be perfectly frank most of the day was spent commuting and listening to computer science related podcasts while bouldering. I added additional notification cards for mentions, boosts, new folllowers and following notifications. Also created the two default boards that users get on sign in.     @cporter@vivaldi.net subscribe to the master feed of the Changelog podcast. They are everywhere but I listen on Spotify. I don’t listen to every episode but I choose a few every week on topics that interest me. Topics span everything from Go to CSS to ML. Choose your poison. Software Engineering Daily is good but I seldom listen and read the transcript instead. Also Lex Fridman podcast with notable computer scientists. John Carmack, Guido van Rossum, Travis Oliphant, etc.
