I won the revanche of Ten Ton Tank. One of these nail-biting games where it comes down to the last few rolls in the last round. I got eliminated in close combat but then survived the gunfire, and stepped across the finishing line in the last phase of the last turn… Amazing. #AdvancedSquadLeader

Playing in a oneshot of Salvage Union. I'm playing Flea with my mech, Jackhammer. One of the pregens. And we're fighting a bandit mech with three drones. It seemed like a fun game, with mechs, a lot of abilities, skills, chassis, systems, modules, and so on, while still being approachable. Perhaps it would end up feeling a bit like BREAK!! Back to sunny 28°C. Having grown up with the prejudice that sunny days have to be cherished and “why don’t you go play outside” I am always conflicted in this situation when I don’t have to work – I don’t feel good about reading and preparing for games while the sun is up. The best compromise is probably long walks in a shady forest while listening to podcasts.

Oh no what will I do? I'm running the Japanese and I get double victory points for reaching the top edge of the map. So now I wonder. Perhaps I can split the enemy party even more and run along the road with my two units at the bottom? It's a squad and a half squad, worth three victory points; in this scenario reaching the top edge gives double victory points, so six, which would in fact be enough. Hm… Also next time I will have spotters in the jungle looking across the gap with one mort...

I'm playing two games of #AdvancedSquadLeader at the moment. In this second game, an online acquaintance wanted to play Starter Kit 1 only, and "as fast as possible". We're failing at the "fast" part but sometimes we still push ourselves and try to cut conversations about rules and tactics short. The goal here is to get into the groove and get faster because my opponent is trying to convince some of their offline friends to start playing face to face. And in a face to...
