Playing in a oneshot of Salvage Union. I'm playing Flea with my mech, Jackhammer. One of the pregens. And we're fighting a bandit mech with three drones. It seemed like a fun game, with mechs, a lot of abilities, skills, chassis, systems, modules, and so on, while still being approachable. Perhaps it would end up feeling a bit like BREAK!! RPG, I don't know. At the end of that little campaign, I didn't quite know where to take it next and I realized how nice it is to have a game like D&D with endless monsters, endless material to buy, and so on. And the fact that I need to pick monsters and stat them out might end up causing me too much work.
As a player, however, I liked it! The guy who ran the game for us doesn't want to turn the one-shot into a longer mini-campaign, however, since his goal is to play "all the games in his library" – oh sweet summer child! But when he showed me his list, I saw a game that I hadn't heard of, and it seemed interesting: Trespasser.
So we'll see what this brings. Many years ago I ran a weekly indie RPG game night on Mondays and I liked that, too.
