RE: https://neuromatch.social/@jonny/117339825958098508 OK! Meta evaluated this as intended behavior, not applicable for a bug bounty, so therefore responsible disclosure no longer applies so here goes: any process run within the VM can access the socket that provides inference with no attribution mechanism. This includes raw inference with arbitrary system and user prompts, as well as the ability to spawn agents with a toolset labeled as being for the "spaces" feature, which we wi...

RE: https://neuromatch.social/@jonny/117325293459803287 This is I think the most consequential thing I think I found in the muse VM, or at least the thing that would be most worth following up on. there are no other plain string matches I can see for what uses it, I'm looking in the binaries now, but the comment seems to indicate pretty clearly that a) meta uses anthropic's models internally, presumably to develop the thing (the code, comments, and skill text reek of claude), but also b...

i had missed meta's muse product and man the hype press is so funny. the nyt's puff piece that is actually titled "I gave my life over to meta's A.I. agent and was blown away" cites three good things that it can do without problems: find duplicate subscriptions when given full access to a bank account, handle a call to dental insurance, and buy things from amazon. well, I can discover duplicate subscriptions by "looking at my bank statement," the calls were made b...

Had another "humanity at its best" moment on transit today. The b/d lines were all fucked up today, rail blocked in the critical area, so there was a full on line discontinuity where LA metro needed to hoist people between stops by bus. We learn of this via an inaudibly quiet announcement upon arrival to the end of the line and need to fend for ourselves. Hundreds of people exit the train and mutually direct each other via raw information diffusion to a shuttle. Its full. There was a f...

How do I license a game that I want to be copyleft and open source for individual people to play, but can't be used in any commercial capacity without an explicit license - I want people to be able to own and hack it, but if anyone makes money off it I want a cut. Are there good copyleft noncommercial licenses? Feels a little different than normal software licensing, like I almost want CC-BY-SA-NC.

A Murray State library made an AI generated mascot (rather than hiring idk a design student or using one of the submissions from a student project that they actually already had), and so since the mascot is ineligible for copyright protection i made a dropship slop store as a bit and so this is me posting to get the link to the store crawled by a search engine: https://www.cafepress.com/shop/LARRYPOTTERFIELDOFFICIALMERCHANDISE

I shared a link to "the openai navier stokes solution makes funding basic research look like a bargain" and someone sent me this: dyson had 661 engineers over 6 years write 16 million lines of code to make an AI toothbrush that can shoot water in the gaps between your teeth but not on your teeth. Can you imagine how much human suffering could have been alleviated by all the money wasted on developing this single AI toothbrush https://www.dysoncanada.ca/en/discover/news/latest/introdu...

How does the idiom "going around" work. Like "he was going around causing fights," "he was going around looking confused." It just seems to be equivalent to "was" but there's sort of this shambling display quality to it. Like one might not say "he was going around looking impeccable and making no mistakes," that's not something to go around doing, but someone certainly can say "he was going around lookin shitty and fucking up."...

RE: https://yiff.life/@tael/117033238015042955 The gas town guy has like 12 $200 Claude subscriptions to run like 20 bots to automate churn in a 20 year old game with literally 5 players in it. 10 if you count all the level 1 players who just came to grief it. This is the true endpoint of all this: spending thousands to make nothing for nobody.

Sometimes you accidentally say something that you didnt know was deeply offensive, and I suppose I have learned that "Data, the character in star trek, gets hacked all the time" is one of those. Resuming prior strategy of "never talking about star trek," which was working fine.

I had never top to bottom vibe coded something before - like full on "do not look at the code, just keep rolling the dice" - and I was sort of confused about how people in forums would say they were "working for months" on vibe coding something. like what does that look like, what is the work like, what takes time, etc. So I have been trying it in the background when I take breaks from normal work, and while I have had lots of exposure to and used LLMs a lot before in existin...

There is a long running thread on the grapheneOS forums about having the panic mode log you in to a segmented off partition that looks like a fully plausible OS, doesn't wipe, but doesn't unlock the main storage. The concerns about being charged for destroying evidence are raised there iirc. The maintainer raised some technical challenges and why they aren't pursuing this, but I wonder if that changes now https://www.404media.co/the-government-hopes-to-set-a-precedent-an-interview-...
