I have performed the deliberately slow and difficult procedure and I'm ready for FDroid 2.0 on my daily driver. On a 2nd phone, I've had GrapheneOS going for several months, and I've tested my critical apps over there, obtained via Fdroid and Aurora app store that front-ends play store. A few commercial apps, like Costco and Canadian Tire app didn't work well the last time I tried, but I can just use a browser instead. I am ready. #degoogle https://www.theregister.com/applic...

The latest in post-vibe-coding paradigms, being flogged around my work neighbourhood. Spec Driven Development! The silver bullet to eclipse 50 years worth of earlier silver bullets! Anyone familiar with software development methodologies should immediately recognize the problems with this familiar old approach. Do you? #softwaredevelopment

One of my clients now requires internal registration for all use of non-internal AI, and VP-level approval for Claude, ChatGPT etc. VP-approval is basically a death sentence, the message is "we don't want you to use this". They don't want to be liable for its mistakes that impact real world, heavily regulated business operations. They have no PR cover if the shit fans, the public already mostly hates them, and the govt could score points with the public spanking them around.

Don't be duped by the blank weather radar #ottawa. The weather pattern today is much like yesterday, the storms have just faded in the relatively cool morning. They just barely vanished at 10am from yesterday. But its unlikely to be a repeat of 110mm, that really needed a precise alignment and timing of repeat popups right over Ottawa.
