Read a journal article about how sharing memes can be seen as shared micro-fictions that reinforce identity and strengthen social relationships and now I think about this whenever I send my besties a silly internet picture https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/15405702.2026.2633390

Taking an intensive online Northern Welsh language class online this week because I’m interested in language restoration, how Wales is structuring their language teaching and I am always interested in being weird and intense in a new language.

I am a native speaker of English but need to pause to have a little despair spiral every time I consciously register that the present and past tense for “read” are spelled the same but pronounced differently.

Love how sometimes I’ll sit down to focus and my brain will clothesline me with a fully formed question hyper targeted to point me at the wrong thing. An example from moments ago: “I don’t really know anything about Central Asian cryptids, what kind of weird little guys do they have?”

My local kebab shop has two automatic kebab-shaving robots. They do not look like people or animals and are not cute, which makes the degree to which I have anthropomorphized them very weird. They are my friends and I love them.

Every year I run a free tech bootcamp online with friends and it's the best thing I've ever done in tech. There's no profit, we don't get paid, there's no goals aside from having a nice little time supporting learners as they grow the skills to get things out of their heads and onto the web.
