Happy Liberation Day! My great uncle Alfred Johnson helped to liberate the Netherlands from the nazis, but unfortunately he was killed shortly after crossing over in Germany. He was 23 years old. They buried him in the Canadian cemetery in Groesbeek. Freedom is essential. We should never forget the people who fought for freedom, and we should remember while we enjoy our freedom, not everyone in the world is free (like the people in Palestine) and our democracy is on the decline. #liberationday

Rather than dipping into reserve #oil, we need to reduce consumption. Stop driving #cars, especially when it's non-essential. Governments needs to rapidly ramp up (and incentivize) public transit operations. Those who can *and want to* work from home, should be encouraged to do so. We need to think more in terms of war time measures for the #climate. Choose the options that require the least amount of #energy. #europe #canada #climate #war
