Happy Liberation Day! My great uncle Alfred Johnson helped to liberate the Netherlands from the nazis, but unfortunately he was killed shortly after crossing over in Germany. He was 23 years old. They buried him in the Canadian cemetery in Groesbeek. Freedom is essential. We should never forget the people who fought for freedom, and we should remember while we enjoy our freedom, not everyone in the world is free (like the people in Palestine) and our democracy is on the decline. #liberationday
