    So, when I looked at prefab houses (both concrete and wood) in Spain (Cantabria in particular) last year, I found the prices to be perfectly reasonable, some even offering Passivhaus certification, and all looking really good. Now we’re on the active search for a terrain, and I looked again at the same houses, and, lo and behold, they’re all around 15-20% more expensive, screwing up our budget. Fuck. Inflation my ass. So pissed off right now. 🤬🤬🤬 (“Normal” ones look to be the same story)

    So, just got an email from Springer saying that they sold Scientific American to a to me obscure LabX Media Group. 1) I hope they won’t enshittify it. 2) does anyone know LabX Media Group and has any kind of insight or opinion on them? #scientificamerican #sciam #science #sciencecommunication

    There has been a lot of sloppy reporting regarding DarkSword, with basically every news outlet saying that iOS 18 is vulnerable. It’s not, if you have the latest 18.7.3. Google has a more in depth analysis, with a lot more information on the specific versions of iOS that are affected. TL;DR It doesn’t seem to affect 18.7.3 at least (might also not work on 18.7.2 given that CVE-2025-43520, which DarkSword uses, has been patched in .2). https://cloud.google.com/blog/topics/threat-intelligence/d...
