Hoo boy, #BandcampFriday is getting to be dangerous for me. Picked up albums by The Explosion, Hailu Mergia (2), Tinariwen, Nahawa Doumbia (2), Action Figure, Dom Sensitive, Superfriends, & Vorhex Angel, and the 𝘔𝘢𝘹𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘮 𝘔𝘕 compilation, as well as an EP by SCANNING and single by Immersion Scriber. A lot of these are completely new to me. Also preordered the newest Twisted Teens & Doom Scroll.

@TheVinylApe@cupoftea.social I've been listening to Low-Budget Horror, and The track that jumps out at me is "In Berea". I really like it, but I'm also curious about the title. Which Berea are you referring to? I know the one in Kentucky, mostly for its well-regarded liberal arts college.

Who tracked mud across my nice, clean floor? The #JukeboxFridayNight theme is #Dirty. First up, a defunct Philly band I only recently discovered: Cayetana, "Dirty Laundry" (2014) https://youtu.be/z0DKtKTQaL0 "And to me you are a laundromat Oh, I picture you like that Trying to get clean again"

This #JukeboxFridayNight we are baring our souls with a #PersonalPlaylist of songs with special meaning in our lives. First up, the song that was playing as I walked in the door at my first school dance in 8th grade. At the time, it felt very true. Today, it serves as a benchmark for the worst song that I still sinehow like a little bit. Loverboy, "Working for the Weekend" (1981) https://youtu.be/dsgBpsNPQ50

The #JukeboxFridayNight theme is #history. No shortage of songs I could pick, but this one about the assassination of William McKinley was the first that leapt to mind. Maybe because it's how I learned to pronounce "Czolgosz". Golden Shoals, "New Whitehouse Blues" https://youtu.be/usCkwuFlnMs

It's #JukeboxFridayNight and the theme is #CloseToOurHearts. With my first quarter I'm punching up the Reverend Al doing what he does: covering someone else's song and making it entirely his. Sorry, Bee Gees, it's Al's song now. Al Green, "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?" (1972) https://youtu.be/K9YIq0oNiSM

It a #PowerPlay on #JukeboxFridayNight "For power ballads, power metal, songs about kinks, songs about submitting to a higher power, and other plays on Power. 🔋 🔌 💡" Didn't have to think long about my submission. It had to be: The Thermals, "Power Doesn't Run On Nothing" (2006) "Our power doesn't run on nothing It runs on blood, and blood is easy to obtain When you have no shame.… We have no shame!" https://youtu.be/YRAk6gWQdqI

Supposedly, today is National 8-Track Tape Day. I assume we use this day to hunt down & destroy every remaining instance of what was, without a doubt, the worst music format ever invented. We should build a bonfire of them and tell scary stories of their many flaws so that the next generation never repeats our mistakes. #UnofficialDiaryDates #8TrackTapeDay
