Tonight's movie night is #CrouchingTigerHiddenDragon as we determine if a couple years of #cdrama and kdrama watching affects what we think of this flick. Granted we haven't watched this in ages...

We left the windows open last night. It is currently 16C in here. I am freezing. I love it. Actual outdoor temp: 9C feels like 7. ♥️

I bought a wrist blood pressure monitor. Because injured hand and ease of use if I need to use it 2x a day. I didn't realise it was a yelling blood pressure monitor though. I didn't realise there were yelling blood pressure monitors at all. Apparently this is a thing for seniors? Maybe I really am an 80-year old woman now. 👵 (Also, omg, a volume button is needed on this! Please! Getting yelled at is not good for blood pressure, and I am sure not all seniors want to get yelled at.)

We have been preparing for the hand surgery by getting some food into the freezer. Yesterday I got a deal on 11lbs of chicken breasts from a local poultry place. Today will be baking, slicing, and freezing for handy usage. So there's protein sorted. Usually at this time of year I am also processing pumpkin, but I just can't manage it with this hand. I am legitimately sad. Chopping up several pumpkins with a cleaver is great for dealing with stress and I could use that right now.

I love telling people about the time there was a show called Mrs. Columbo, because almost no one knows about it, but I loved it so much as a kid. Seriously early Kate Mulgrew work, and she was pretty fierce even then.

I swear that Chrome is trying to make itself absolutely unusable. Today I can't copy and paste with my mouse which is highly problematic because using Control + X/V/C requires me to flex the injured part of my injured hand and wtaf with the lack of options here? As a tester, copy and paste is a HUGE part of my day. (This is my work machine, I have no option to use another browser so please so not respond with how I should switch.)

Partner ordered a bottle of this when he was looking at soju and maekgeolli on the LCBO site. We dubbed it jet fuel and didn't drink much. It's north of 50% so a little goes a long way. But we didn't appreciate it til tonight after we read this and tried again per the recommendation on how to drink it. It still doesn't take much though. https://www.cbc.ca/life/food/baijiu-primer-the-worlds-most-consumed-liquor-1.7552287

Ok, the writers are forgiven, although it took a bit to get to that point as they dragged out whether he was alive or not. 🤨 #kdrama #OurStickyLove

I have had almost a year to deal with the fact that my left hand is various levels of injured and I shouldn't use it to pick up stuff. Anyway, I am in pain now because I picked up a salami at the farmers' market with my left hand.

Tonight's movie night pick is #UnexpectedFamily , with unexpected #JackieChan as an old man with Alzheimer's. Supposed to be a comedy with that start. So, um, yeah. Here we go. #cdrama

At the team dinner with President Kang, bomb shots are made by one of the employees. Whenever I see a scene like this my primary thought is always that the restaurant staff cannot be paid enough to clean up after people showing off to their bosses this way if it happens with the regularity you see it in #kdrama. Because wow does that make a mess. #BusinessProposal

At the point in the one handed keyboard setup where I am painstakingly adding stickers for various key layers. And ow. There is pain. Also, I need a way to label some of the keys still. A labelmaker may be in my future.

A friend who works at a hospital messaged me to see if the referral to the hand surgeon had maybe gotten lost. I texted my dr's office, and THREE MONTHS LATER they don't know if the hand surgeon has even accepted the referral. I have had problems with this office recently so if this has fallen through I am definitely looking for a new doctor because the NP I have been seeing has been really dismissive already and I am getting pissed off. I lost my 30s to vertigo caused by this b...

To get to and from the floor safely with one hand when needed, the physiotherapist recommended a modified Turkish get up. My gods that is a workout, especially for someone who hasn't been able to do much exercising for a while. 😟

Gu Ho is dressed as a bandit in the Joseon era, chasing after a maiden Yi Rang as part of a story being told by James to some marks. Yi Rang's "father" begs for the bandit to not take his daughter, and in the process manages to pants Gu Ho. Partner: don't look honey! Me: that's an elasticised waistband, highly unlikely to have existed at all in the Joseon era, let alone in the possession of a bandit. Partner: damn, too late. #kdrama #ConfidenceQueen

Question for #3dPrinter , #Accessibility , and #Bicycle folks out there... I am trying to figure out an adaptation for my exercise bike to allow me to ride it while I have a hand injury that makes it impossible to put pressure on the top of my palm to ride. I have a Bowflex C6 that I can't adjust the handles on. I am looking for the right words to find an attachment for the handlebars, or an example of a print for something that would let me use my wrist/bottom of palm for any type of bik...

RE: https://mas.to/@mardigroan/117048715357272397 I lead one meeting at work, and it is very popular since I have been able to replace it with a Slack thread every week for months. The work involved has actually become more efficient since I did this as well.

My cats don't get treats often. Having had various cats with dietary issues means we tend to stick to kibble and wet only, with kibble doubling as treats. A friend brought a bag of Temptations for them, and they obviously love it. Because of Hector's IBS they only get one piece very occassionally, and afterwards they hunt EVERYWHERE to see if they can find more, for a long time. Their attention span is never this good for anything else. Definitely Kitty Crack. #CatsOfMastodon

I collect old cookbooks, have for decades. I thrift a lot of them, and I am notici g a shift in what is available as different generations downsize/pass on. What I have seen for the last few years is the disappearance of cookbooks published in the early to mid 20th. This was a golden era of cookbooks as families that lost their wealth in the WWs had to stop hiring staff and cook for themselves for the first time. Lots of companies published detailed books to help, and to advertise and sell the...

Are there scams where someone bumps your car and then insists you go to the body shop of a relative with a sob story about insurance? Or did I just find a weird and specific genre of person doing the rear ending today? (I am fine, car doesn't seem badly damaged, insurance totally invoked, I am just weirded out a bit about the events of the day).
