    right after we bested the constraints of local applications hogging resources by optimizing everything to run in the browser, storage was cheap and memory was cheap and compute was comparatively cheap, and instead of making applications that utilized local resources effectively again, the software industry decided that was far too difficult so they wrote all their applications in a web browser container
