Oh, so car update. I was supposed to have my car back from being painted after two weeks and it’s been six. Got a call today that the body shop broke my windshield and they have to order a new windshield and have that installed so maybe by next Friday.

I’m done my true ending prep for Sea of Stars including rare achievements like collect every treasure, cook every meal, etc. probably wrap that up tonight.

Beat the true ending of Sea of Stars! I was hoping for a little bit more with the ending, but what we got was pretty good. The boss itself was only so so, it really dragged on. I’ve kind of had my fill at this point nearing 35 hours but the free DLC does have a pretty good hook. So I’m going to play a little bit longer and see if I’m enjoying it.

Played about 1.5 hours of The Town of Light. It's a walking sim about an old closed up asylum and a woman trying to figure out what memories that happened there were real, or not, among other things. It's very surreal and confusing, and I'm still kind of puzzled by what's going on. Very frustrating to play without a guide because you walk super slow, and it's very unclear where plot advancing triggers are. With a guide, it's pretty decent. I&...

Another backlog clear. A bold choice to make the main character a piece of human garbage, but parts of it were okay. He's just so insufferable and evil but that's the point. Ending was spoiled but I enjoyed the environments and audio- pretty surreal. Nice to play an RPG Maker game where you move at more than a snail's pace and can control with just the mouse. It can sometimes feel like a teenager is writing what they think adults sound like at the office or when discu...

In Sea of Stars I’m caught up on getting all the collectibles from previous areas, now working on pre-final boss character specific side quests à la Chrono Trigger. In Grim Dawn, playing Forgotten Gods- I liked the darker tone of Malmouth but the more open areas are nice in FG. The mouse controls were not ideal for navigating a dense urban environment with lots of small buildings. Also dabbling a little in the next difficulty, your story progress is saved separately but character syncs.

It's great working all day and then the kidney stone pain waits until it's time to go home, so I can suffer the remainder of the day away before going to bed.

In Sea of Stars, I have the final dungeon unlocked, but I'm trying to go through and collect all the things from the previous areas that I missed. There's an in game tracker for chests and other collectibles, once you unlock it, but I'm also using a guide to help make the process smoother. I know at least one of the collectibles affects the ending.

Ashes of Malmouth is a great expansion for Grim Dawn so far. The new areas are just a ton of fun, and it adds some stuff to the base game, too. I'm really pleased with my build that I didn't use a guide for. Dual wielder Blademaster with a ton of cold damage. I'm still only on Normal, but I am just wrecking massive groups of enemies right now. Once you beat Normal, you can start Elite with your same character and level, but everything storywise reset.

@inpurpleshadows@retro.pizza I'm kind of the same way with it- have a real soft spot for the first game, but only played it a couple of times. Before the Storm and True Colors were okay, it was nice having a couple narrative games to play, but they weren't really anything special to me. Haven't checked out LiS 2 or Double Exposure. The new game, someone posted a few of the journal entries and it feels so lifeless.

Thursday to Saturday work, with Friday being a heaping 10 hour serving. In the midst of this, I'm still waiting for my car to get back to me, been a month on Monday. I have a loaner, but it's a perpetual source of anxiety for me. I'll be off on Sunday, but then my next normal day off on Tuesday, mom will have her next appointment, and then infusion unless they change that based on the CT results. So overwhelmed and I still have a kidney stone.

Loopers doesn’t really live up to its interesting time loop concept. Problems get solved so fast, and it doesn’t get you in the head space of people who have been trapped in the same day long enough to have lost their minds. Hunting for a geocache with the new guy is the solution to all of life‘s problems in this game. It almost feels sponsored by a treasure hunt company.

Echoes of Wisdom complete. It’s a substantial game and it has some really good lore. Big things happen. Far from a side story if that’s what you might be expecting. When you have a lot of echoes, it can get a little bit clunky trying to find the right one. And it does maybe drag a little bit toward the end. But I would definitely recommend it for fans of old school Zelda- but if that wasn’t your thing in the past, the new mechanics might make it more interesting for you.

Echoes of Wisdom dungeon 7 clear. This was a good game but I’m kind of ready to wrap things up. I don’t think I’ll be going for 100%.

@tlapka@ak.kawen.space it always impresses me how the characters can feel so alive and with so many expressions considering it it’s not exactly the latest and greatest graphics technology

Did more Grim Dawn and Sea of Stars today. I’m in what I guess you’d all Act 2 of GD. It’s kind of a Wild West vibe now. Sea of Stars I can travel the seas now, things are starting to open up a little. Still a very comfy game. Casually played around with Wario Ware 1 and even got in a little FFXIV time in late. I need to set aside some time to start finishing up Echoes of Wisdom.
