Paradox of tolerance - Wikipedia Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance

A poacher hunting rhinos was ambushed by a herd of elephants and trampled to death. Two men with high-powered rifles and an axe broke into Kruger National Park in South Africa, looking for a Β£10,000 payday. But the white rhino herd had been following a water source with a group of nearby African elephants sheltering from the harsh sun under trees. As the pair closed in on the rhinos, the elephants broke cover and charged them. oh NO! ... anyway.... https://metro.co.uk/2026/09/15/poacher-sn...

Just popping in to have digital scream because somebody just said something didn't exist because they checked with Google, of course they just checked with Google's AI overview, they didn't actually use a search engine, because then they would have found out that the thing they wanted did exist, and was available in the local supermarket. I swear AI is turning people's brains into mush

Apparently there's an ai trend to see what you'd have looked like in the 80s. It's wasteful, silly and pointless. Especially for us old people. I know what I looked like in the 80s. I have photos lol

Spent the day at a sheep fair. There were morris dancers, bell ringing and an old school fun fair, with swing boats, carousels and those test of strength games with hammers and bells. I won a cuddly fox on the ball toss game!

In 1989, Britain began reintroducing red kites after persecution left fewer than 10 breeding pairs; their population has since risen 2,613% and expanded across the country #GoodNews When i married we honeymooned in Wales, we had to drive to a certain area to see red kites. It was so exciting as they were so rare even then (1992) but now I see them here in Sussex! Often too. What a great success story. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/science/wildlife/in-1989-britain-began-reintroducing-re...

A 74-year-old man who collapsed in the street after feeling unwell has praised the actions of two teenage rescuers who got him to hospital. Nick Peacey was waiting for a bus after attending Cardiff's Tafwyl festival when he collapsed outside Cardiff Castle last Sunday night. Josh and Taylor, both 15, were passing by and went to Peacey's aid as he drifted in and out of consciousness. They gave him water and called for an ambulance, only to be told it could be a while before paramedics...

People have lost the ability to do a simple Internet search without using chatgpt. And then they just believe chatgpt and don't even check the links. If I see one more screen shot of "actually ...." with just an ai overview I won't be responsible for my actions. I saw one recently where they'd asked a huge question.
