Irrespective of anyone's views over AI this is definitely a case of a breach of trust on the part of the school, given that a child's unaltered photo is now in the hands of an unknown AI company. However, living as she does in the UK she IS covered by GDPR, and thus can legally demand the removal of all her children's data and images from these systems, and the companies, given that they are trading in the UK, MUST comply.
