If you enjoyed The Tomb of Ligeia, I recommend reading the Wikipedia page about it. It seems the relative quality is largely due to the writer, Robert Towne, taking his job very seriously. It's also interesting that neither Corman nor Towne wanted Price, who was already 53 at the time. #Monsterdon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tomb_of_Ligeia

Every time I see a new large-scale Linux-based project, the first thing I wonder is, is it run by a white supremacist, eugenicist fascist?

The whole ending made little sense, but generally one of the best Price movies or Corman movies I've seen. Thanks to @Taweret@timeloop.cafe and @ryan@social.miyaku.media as always. #Monsterdon

I liked that abstract fire in the windows effect. #Monsterdon

I think Corman's lost the plot line and is just thrashing around at this point. #Monsterdon

I watched Journey into the Center of Time hours after the #Monsterdon gang, and it was so, so awful. Probably fun to watch with friends, actually depressing to watch alone. It seems to have been made by people who have no idea how to make a movie, and aren't even really sure what a movie is. Every choice made was the wrong choice. At least someone like Ed Wood made up for a lack of skill and talent with an overabundance of earnestness, but there is no earnestness to be found in this "mo...

So, I injured myself today. Picking up a pumpkin. A pumpkin that weighs about 56 kilograms. (120 lbs). You might think "hernia," but it was weirder than that. I successfully picked it up from the boot of my friend's car, but as I was carrying it to the boot of my care, there was a sudden "pop" in my spine, right between the bottom of my shoulder blades. It felt as if the top part of my spine slipped off the lower part of my spine. Suddenly my chest hurt a LOT. 1/4

I used to turn down follow requests from accounts with no profile images until I realized a lot of Blind users don't use profile images. While a lack of a profile image remains one data point when assessing an account, if the account has a proper bio and I see that the person is posting regular human posts that aren't spammy, that cancels out the lack of a profile image. I'm mutuals with at least three folks who don't have one. (They're all Blind.)

I never know how to respond to the "Was this the worst #Monsterdon movie?" poll, because I don't know if it means "worst" as in "so-worst-it's-best" way, or if it means "Choosing this film for Monsterdon was a terrible mistake way." I would say "Sting of Death" was an excellent choice for Monsterdon, as evidenced by all the fun we had mocking every scene. I would say "Mako: Jaws of Death" was a mistake, because the attempted ra...
