Surprised how many "best classic books for teens" include Go Ask Alice. How in the year 2025 do they not even mention that it's fake? Even the New York Public Library list

Just a reminder that James Watson said a lot of indefensibly sexist and racist things. Any obituary that doesn't mention that is doing a disservice

Vincent van gogh's letters give one the unique experience of watching somebody become an "incel" kinda guy

Im on letters 857 of Vincent van gogh's letters, out of 902. So reading the letters made me feel a real dislike of him or at least his behavior. He's an awful misogynist at a time when that wasn't guaranteed, horribly manipulative of his brother... ...but I find myself pulling for him with real sadness as he is in the asylum. Obviously they had no idea how to treat mental illness and he is really sincerely trying

How many times in the middle ages did somebody catch a fish that had swallowed a ring? I feel like it must have really happened at least once
