Sometimes I want to start running a Shoutcast server again and just play music. There's so much I just love and want to share, but platforms have choked that off forever. It's literally been ... since the early 2000s.

I had a massively frustrating experience on my bike a couple of days ago. I burst my rear tube. I went and purchased a new one. I had the tools necessary to replace it on the fly but I couldn't get my rear rim out of my bike. It was like whoever last installed it shoved it in incorrectly and I just didn't have the leverage (or skill?) to get it out. I'm not a bike mechanic, but I like to think I can figure things out, and I try to work on my own stuff as much as possible...

I have discovered that in my "be an it dude that does all his own stuff and is on a path to self-host everything" that there is an occasional HARD requirement to use Windows to flash a thing to liberate it. I hate it. but I have cobbled together a B350m motherboard, a Ryzen 5 1600 (that I used to flash peoples' motherboards to use newer cpus) and 16gb of bargain bin ddr4 and am now installing... Windows 11 on it. It will sit in my closet on a 3d printed motherboard...

i mentioned a few times how much I really... really like Emily Armstrong in Linkin Park and love the new album. I've accidentally avoided listening to Emily Armstrong performing to the existing LP catalog though... I hadn't listened to anything live that wasn't from the new album. I stumbled on a single live track of LP performing Somewhere I Belong as part of a playlist on YT and I hadn't heard Emily sing it before. I had a pretty visceral emotional response (...

Big day today. I'd already moved my photos off OneDrive onto local server storage and imported them into Immich. Worked with @ToniaThomas@swingset.social today to move her photos off of both OneDrive and Google Photos and onto local server storage, and imported them into Immich. t-minus a month and a half until we finally stop paying for Microsoft services / storage! (our #immich setup has it running in a docker container, with ml enabled with access to a modest gpu for processing)

I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. https://screenrant.com/stargate-amazon-new-series-canceled/ This is why I won't trust things I love to corporations anymore. I want to love stories and story telling universes, but I just can't deal with Amazon owning Stargate and having the power to just kill something. Same but with Paramount and Star Trek, and Avatar, both story universes which I love FIERCELY. I won't al...

I don't know how people do this whole "have a nesting partner with a opposite schedule" thing long term. I / we are seven months in and it feels like forever.

I listened to a YeeDM mix today. I did not hate it. I'd be willing to stretch a bit and try some Drum N' CountryBass if I can find some.

AND ANOTHER THING I'm not sure I'm behind the B2B trend, it's just resulted in some more ~diluted~ generic sounding sets. It takes two halves and ends up iwith less than a whole. But i'd love to get some recommendations on some sets to change my mind!

speaking of warm temperatures... the most important thing i learned last year when I started commuting 25 miles each way to work on an ebike was that it was important to check my ego / sense of "justice" on following the rules of the road. For example, when in car, if other car do bad, instinct to use car to bracket or otherwise limit other car ability to do bad strong. (still a bad idea, but lizard brain make me want do) In bike, it better to be safe then right.
