@vickyjo@mastodon.social @ministraitor@infosec.exchange It's work related, which limits my choices in carriers. But also means I don't have to pay the base ticket. I'll try to expense the upgrades, but I don't have my hopes up. But for two 9 hour long haul flights... I'm worth it.

Booking travel through Egencia is the absolute worst part of my corporate career. By many many many (air)miles Their login sequencr is shit. Their interface is shit. Their 'helpful AI' chatbot is the shittiest chatbot ever. Their info in rates is not in line with the info of rates of the airline itself and cause confusion. Their approval process is shit. It's absolutely clear that the people who make the decision to use Egencia as their corporate travel agent don&...

Well that didn't take long, you can now get "I am not complicit" Ed Sheeran merch, of which the proceeds are donated the Palestinian Children's relief fund. Unfortunately DFTBA is still only ships from the UD. https://store.dftba.com/products/tribute-to-ed-sheerans-bravery-fundraiser-t-shirt

If I need to admit I'm getting older, then I want something in return: some nice proper grey hair instead of my net-niks dark blonde. I'm starting to have significant amounts of grey hairs. But they're all in my eyebrows. Meh. 😑

So interesting to see that when Ali Niknam, our own Temu Elon Musk, gets criticized for his abusive and toxic management style. The business manosphere comes out in droves to defend the 'genius mastermind' on LinkedIn. One of them lauded Niknam for 'challenging the status quo' and that we should have more people like that. The guy saying this: Constantijn van Oranje Nassau, a member of one of the richest and most privileged families in the country. He *is* the fu...

I felt that Microsoft Copilot, formerly known as Office, could use a mascot. So I asked Copilot to design something in the spirit of Clippy. Let me introduce you to Sloppy, a cheerful slightly gooey assistant with glasses and a headset. #Microslop

The terfs have moved the goalpoasts. Literally the day after the ban on trans people using public restrooms came into effect, the transphobia seamlessly transitioned into ableism. They are now targeting young women using mobility aids. Read all the ableism containing the same 'social contagion' moral panic here: https://archive.ph/OMv9c

RE: https://hsnl.social/@Dany/117053245961816992 People don't really pay attention on linkedin. I posted the same photo there, the text included in the post included: "And on my gravelbike (although I'm still more a roadie), where I like to ride fast-ish. So I do some of the aero-trends that are all the rage in cycling." It had 1300 impression 13 reactions and 2 comments. Nobody mentioned the bra inserts. 😸

In the wake of the attack on the Berlin CSD last Saturday: I can do without the pinkwashing of blatant racism. In 99% of cases the very same people complain about woke and LGBTQ+ being 'forced down their throat' on a daily basis. Realistically I have most to fear from the very white politicians that rave about christo-judean values and traditions, that want to limit queer and trans rights and impose restrictions and outright bans on gender affirming care.

I had the brainfart to just get some extra memory in my work laptop. 8gb is a bit meager for a corporate Windows 11 install. Thinking that older, slowish memory probably is cheap enough to just pay from my expense allowance, without going through the pain of Corp IT ticketing. An 8gb DDR4 so-dimm starts at around €69 nowadays. 😱 These things were around €20 a year ago, before ram prices soared.

Can't we just have an AI labelling for companies, so you can decide buying their stuff or applying for a job. Something like: 0 - AI? I'm a plummer. No where is that leaky pipe? 1 - We use some cleverly designed algorithms. 2 - We incorporate machine learning in specific tasks. 3 - LLMs are available for limited non-critical tasks only. 4 - Experienced Devs can use a coding assistant, but are accountable for the output. 5 - GenAI and LLMs are available for staff to use as tools...

The AI is also car brained, proving it is a form of US Tech colonialism. @notjustbikes already predicted that tech companies selling autonomous cars will be lobbying to make the roads 'safer' by redesigning them to suit cars and be hostile for humans. https://road.cc/news/driverless-taxis-veering-into-cycle-lanes-normal-practice-says-waymo

Well fuck this. Terfs are threatening Parkrun UK* with legal action, because they just allow anyone to join the runs without stupid gender assigned at birth shit. I've got some business trips coming up, including to the UK. Just to make a fucking point. *Parkruns are free volunteer organised 5k runs in parks on Saturday morning. It's an...

Wondering why I am still paying for Strava, I'm not using much of the premium perks. Garmin offers about the same, and I don't care so much about segments and QOMs. Will look into open source alternatives, to do some fun stuff with the years of data. But probably gonna axe the renewal of my subscription.
