When it comes to language, I’m personally a descriptivist and not a prescriptivist. We call the US a democracy when republic could be considered the strict definition of things. So I don’t see much purpose to engaging in the linguistic semantics you bring up.
Anyway, let’s look at the context of the preceding comments, which is more relevant: the person I replied to was referencing another person’s comment about US libertarianism, which is also known as “anarcho-capitalism”, even though its implementation is much closer to feudalism, a la Peter Thiel et al’s dream for the future.
Anarchists at large disavow these “libertarians” because their motives and proposed structure are inherently at odds with anarchist praxis. Hence my request not to conflate the two.
