this whole "i'm a trump voter and i'm surprised people hate me now" business is embarrassing
how the heck there can be so many people who are so unaware that they would be held responsible for the very obvious results of their politics
like, you can be surprised about some things, like the war in iran, but a lot of what liberals and leftists have been warning about come from things that either trump or project 2025 specifically promised
you can't say "oh, i didn't think he would do deportation raids or detention centers" knowing that he (1) did those back in his first term, (2) ran both his first and second term's campaigns on a promise to lock down the border and deport people
and if you say "well, a democrat would have been even worse": you know that the biggest reasons they criticized obama and joe biden as for things they promised, but failed to deliver on, right?
there's a difference between saying "i'm gonna do this thing" and failing to do it, and saying "i'm gonna do this thing" with everyone else saying, "don't do it, it's going to be bad", then doing that thing, then the consequences of that thing hitting everyone in the face
