@itgrrl@infosec.exchange yep, it's an app on your phone, or the phone itself (using the UWB chip in the phone) - or just an NFC keycard that you tap. Or the keyfob has no buttons and it's just an NFC proximity sensor that doesn't work half the damn time.

@decryption@aus.social oh get fucked! 🙅♀️ car designers obviously don’t have security brains or consider failure modes, that’s seven kinds of disaster waiting to happen I wouldn’t even be surprised these days if, for bonus points, some of the apps require an active internet connection as well to even work 🤪 so many people in tech are just stunningly bad at their jobs 😡
