Yesterday (was it only yesterday?) I posted this story from my college days, meant to make people laugh. I took it down after a bit because, at its core, I did a very mean thing. And I thought maybe there is enough bad stuff happening in the world, I don't need to add to it by recounting my own terrible behavior in my youth.
Then I reconsidered. I'm not that person anymore, and it IS a really silly story, and if I CAN make someone laugh today at my foolishness then... well, maybe that's okay.

@anne@toot.cat Maybe a little mean, but nobody was physically harmed? And perhaps it caused them to think a little bit about how "fun" should be reciprocal.

@anne@toot.cat How is that mean? You gave them all the attention they were seeking. The *entire restaurant* was looking at them, and they didn't need to spend any more pennies to do it.
