Things have not gone my way with the new Apple things thanks to UPS.
Parcel sent me a notification at 2:30 this afternoon that UPS attempted to deliver the iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra but couldn’t, since the business was closed. It was not.
I thought I could sought it out by calling them right away. It was going to take about 20 minutes to talk to someone, and I had things to do, so after being assured that I wouldn’t lose my place, I requested a call back.
I eventually got that call back, and after I answered, the system immediately hung up on me.
I tried a second time, with the same results.
I tried logging into the UPS My Choice to get the package redirected home. It told me it couldn’t do that because the number of delivery attempts hadn’t yet been exhausted for the current address. They say they will try to deliver again on Monday to see if the business remains closed, which it never was.
So, I called Apple. They were sympathetic and could ask for a redirection, but said it might take some time and there was no guarantee it would get here tomorrow. The problem is, if I get the same incompetent driver, the same thing may happen all over again Monday.
So, I decided since I am home this evening to call UPS, stay on hold rather than request a call back, and see if I could get to a supervisor. As I write this, I have been on hold for two hours 10 minutes, listening to their horrible little instrumental loop that ends and begins in a very irritating way.
It is so disappointing that a driver who either can’t do their job or doesn’t care enough has caused all this time consuming run-around and delay, and I still don’t have a resolution.
This is the second time have have had an issue like this with UPS since I have been here.

@JonathanMosen@caneandable.social I found Apple - and which ever courier service they use in New Zealand - DHL I think - to be excellent in this regard. But I have seen enough complaints about courier drives in multiple countries to know it is definitely an issue. Especially "we called, but you were out", but you were in fact poised to open the door at the slightest sound. I wonder if there are systemic issues with their workloads? Anyway, it is enormously frustrating and I hope you can get the delivery as soon as possible.

@JonathanMosen@caneandable.social Sorry to hear about your UPS issues. when Australia post is doing a delivery, I prefer to have a delivery to one of their parcel lockers. at least I then don't have an issue with lost deliveries. #ParcelLockers #AustPost
