@leroy I really don't think that was the issue… it was only brought up by one, max two people. Still, the hardware was provided to test hardware compatibility (not monetized videos), and I think it would be a huge stretch to define "sending a machine to test hardware compatibility" as "financial support", since it does not help DHH finances at all.

@niccolove @leroy My hangup is it's still financial support. What if they sent $1800 in store credit? Or a 1-time 100% discount code for a laptop? Those'd be the same to me, all financial support. (Speaking hypothetically) If KDE e.V. covers someone's Akademy trip, I think that's financial support. Spent money isn't fungible for general use, it's earmarked for Akademy-related use (Hypothetically, maybe it's different in reality). I see no difference between that and free hardware donations.
