It doesn't help that codegooners normalize "AI"-washing copyright and credits away with "I can rewrite chardet with an LLM and change its license, past contributors and copyright holders be damned", and "zomg it's just fair use, the LLM spit it out, we didn't know it's bit for bit stolen!!1".
